What Happens When You Think God Is Running Behind?

Dear God thank You so much for the message that You have put on my heart. Please allow the words to flow from my brain to my hands. Allow this word to be a reminder of the importance of waiting on You. God, I believe that this message will be used to give people the reassurance that just because You have not showed up yet, it does not mean that You are not on the way. May You get the glory, Amen.

Thank You God for Conviction. This one is for me too.

What Happens When You Think God Is Running Behind?

See I have made numerous mistakes trying to “do life on my own.” I have made even more mistakes thinking that God, was not aware that I was waiting on him… So I took it upon myself to make decisions. Some were life-altering, some were just bruises. Meaning they hurt right after those decisions, but that pain eventually faded. The worst consequences of my decisions, were the scars that I received. Those decisions that hurt in the moment, healed, but left a mark that reminds me of the pain that my decisions will cause me forever.

I believe that many of us are more like Saul, than we would like to admit. Many of us are making choices, thinking that God is not on the way and in return we are messing up our blessings. Blessings that are not only supposed to be enough for us, BUT FOR MULTIPLE GENERATIONS AFTER US AS WELL!

Don’t believe me, look at verse 13 “How foolish!” Samuel exclaimed. “You have not kept the command the Lord your God gave you. Had you kept it, the Lord would have established your kingdom over Israel forever. This is what God wants to do for you, me, and anyone who will follow his instructions. He wants to establish a life for us, that will bear fruit forever. Like, forever ever. Not just your life, not just your children’s life, not just those who you impact life, but their children and their children’s children. (I almost quoted The Blessing by Elevation Worship) God really wants that life for you, but he also wants to see if you will listen or get in your own way. He wants to see if you will be David (the person God had already appointed) or Saul.

Verse 11-12, are very important to so that you have a chance to learn from Saul’s mistake. 11 but Samuel said, “What is this you have done?” Saul replied, “I saw my men scattering from me, and you didn’t arrive when you said you would, and the Philistines are at Micmash ready for battle. 12 So I said, ‘The Philistines are ready to march against us at Gilgal, and I haven’t even asked for the Lord’s help!’ So I felt compelled to offer the burnt offering myself before you came.”

How many of us are losing friends that we thought we needed to live the life we are supposed to have? How many of us can see the enemy beginning to line up against us for battle? How many of us know that God was supposed to be coming, yet He seems to be running behind? How many of us are thinking, “I know He told me that He would be here today, but it is getting late and the people that are depending on me are getting restless. I need to move now or I am going to lose everyone.”? How many of us are so caught up on pleasing people, that we put God to the back burner? I promise you these questions could go on forever, because there is a behavior of “Saul’s decisions” that fits all of our situations.

These questions can help by using them to understand the mistakes that Saul made. Then once you have an understanding, try to make sure that you do not mimic his mistakes. If you are reading this story or any other in the Bible, without the hope of getting things out of it then… KEEP READING and I pray that your eyes will be opened to the messages (You did not think I would tell you to stop reading did you… NO WAY). Though, I challenge you to read the words in the Bible and see if there is anything that you can apply. As I have said in other post, “Put it in your spirit, so that when you need it; you can pull it back out.”

Now, I want to move on to the last verse. This was a huge pill for me to swallow. 14 But now your kingdom must end, for the Lord has sought out a man after His own heart. The Lord has already appointed him to be the leader of his people, because you have not kept the Lord’s command.” Once God has given us clear instructions, His Grace will forgive us if we do not follow them, but the opportunity may not do the same. Meaning that God will forgive us because of His Grace! BUT He may give that opportunity that was supposed to be your everlasting blessing, to someone who is obedient enough to follow the instructions to receive it. One thing that this can teach us is that the person is not important to God, but fulfilling the process as he seen it is. Therefore, maybe it will be wise for us to focus on fulfilling his instructions, more than the uncomfortable feeling that waiting on him may cause.

So, I ask you, What Happens When You Think God Is Running Behind? I pray that you do not mess up your future and the future of your next generation like Saul!

Knock Knock!

Dear God, here I am. Asking to be used as a vessel for Your message. As I write these words, please take over my mind, my heart, and my soul that they convey Your word like no one has ever before. May this be a reminder for someone that You are trying to come into their life. God show Yourself not only to them, but continue to show Yourself to me. Thank You in advance for the plans that You have for my life. May You look down and be pleased with my life. For your glory, Amen.

Summer of 2019, I became worn down with the trials of life. I was tired of doing things on my own. I was exhausted from trying to be something that I was not. I was lost and in need of a life-saving change. I prayed a very different prayer to God. One that was as vulnerable as I had ever been with Him, even though he already knew my struggles. In hindsight it is a joke to even think that I was truly hiding something from God, but that was my thoughts at the time.

As the summer continued, a switch occurred. It was evident that not only had He heard my prayer, but He came to the door of my heart and knocked. He came to me at my lowest moments of faith, and refused to let me be alone. So, when you ask why I am on fire for God? It is because He not only accepted me; with my wavering faith, parts of unbelief, and doubt in both Him and myself. I realized that He saw not who I was in that moment, but the person that I am now writing these words. God knew that eventually I would be in a position of being grateful for how far I’ve come, but also focused on where He wanted to me to go next. I was so thankful that I let Him in. I was also thankful of one thing that eased my doubt.

His Grace Accepted Me.

Right now, I know there are a few people who may not want to admit it, but they need Him in their life. I know that you hear Him knocking and you are afraid. You feel that you may not be worthy of His love. You fear that you will let him down, like you have let so many people down in your life before. You are reading these words, and filling in your own problems and reason why He cannot love someone like you. There is no way that I deserve His Grace, His Mercy, and any of the things He offers. Look at those I have hurt and all the bad that I have done.

STOP!

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16) How many people do you know love you enough to sacrifice their children? I will wait, because I can only think of one. This verse is why you should not talk yourself out of the love God is trying to give you. He wants to sit with you at the table at your lowest moments. He does not expect you to change overnight. He knows our short comings. (Romans 3:23) He knows exactly who you are, but He knows that first you have to let Him in.

KNOCK KNOCK!

Are you going to let him in? He is knocking on the door of your heart. Waiting on you to open the door and receive the favor that he has on your life. God is not accidentally choosing your door. Him choosing you is intentional; God sees something in you that you have yet to see in yourself. Now you’re asking, “How? Why?” It is simply, because He knows what is in your heart. See you are afraid that God will judge you like people judge you. You are afraid that God will shame like people do every chance that they get, BUT that is not the God we serve. (1 Samuel 16:7)

This moment gives me the opportunity to do something that is the sole purpose of why I started this blog. In Romans 10:9-10, the Bible says If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. I want to give you an opportunity rather it is your first or 100th time.

Read this aloud:

Dear Father,

I now believe that Jesus Christ is Your only begotten Son, that He came down to our earth in the flesh and died on the cross to take away all of my sins and the sins of this world. I believe that Jesus Christ then rose from the dead on the third day to give all of us eternal life.

Lord Jesus,

I now confess to You all of the wrong and sinful things that I have ever done in my life. I ask that You please forgive me and wash away all of my sins by the blood that You have personally shed for me on the cross. I am now ready to accept You as my personal Lord and Savior. I now ask that You come into my life and live with me for all of eternity.

Father, Jesus – I now believe that I am truly saved and born again.

Thank You Father.
Thank You Jesus.

You’ve Probably Heard This Before.

Before we get started, Lord please annoint the hands that type the words of your love and grace. God use them to convey a message that is so moving that, they know you had to be apart of it. God please allow these words to heal, deliver, and protect each reader from anything the devil is trying to throw at them. God I understand that they might be familar with this text, allow these words to give them new insight. May these things be done in Your name, for Your Glory, Amen.

Trust me, You’ve Probably Heard This Before.

Let’s break this down. Starting with verse 20, “Now to him who is able to do far more than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us,”

How many of you right now; during a time of pandemic, economic struggles, children being home with us 24/7, being a new homeschool teacher, and having to truly get to know ourselves need a reminder that we serve a God that will not only do all that we ask or think, BUT WANTS TO DO FAR MORE? How many of us needed to be reminded that the power he has, has been given to us?

His dead-rising, lame-walking, blind-seeing, and life-saving power.

That power is within us all, waiting to be used. The only bad part is that when we doubt God’s power, we doubt what he put inside of us to face our problems. We feel like he left us without the answers, when in reality he’s already given us the answers and we have to stop waiting and starting meeting God. That is why I strive to have more than a relationship with Him; I also want a fellowship. I know that a relationship can lead to one side doing more, but a fellowship means we are both working hard to make things work. It helps God see that I am just as eager to do my part, as I am for him to do his.

See, God does not only want to help with what we asked for, he wants to do MORE. He wants to help us be more, see more, feel more, help more, love more, and even have more, but first he wants you to realize that the power to do those things is already working inside of us. Like I said last week, you cannot pull out, what you have not put in. Imagine thinking that you can pull out something that you did not even know was there. That is not a probability that I am willing to rely on, but this is the beauty of our Intentional God. He does not try to hide things from us. He actually has laid out all the answers, we just have to do our part and fellowship (read, listen, yield ourselves) and we will learn those things that are in us.

When we stop looking at oursleves as a seperate organism, but instead a branch of God’s tree. Then, maybe we will realize not only His power, but the power He’s given to us. (John 5:15)

Now let’s tackle verse 21, “To him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” Throughout all generations, our actions are larger than us. The affect of what we are doing now is not just impacting our life, but EVERYONE who will come after us. We must realize the importance of what we are or are not doing right now. We must understand that us losing faith, because our spirit feels alone during this pandemic is not just affecting how we deal with hard times. It could also have an effect on how future generations deal with hard times. So be careful the next time you decide to give up, because you are trying to handle it alone. Be careful the next time you do something without God, because you could be setting the precedent of what future generations do. You could also be directly affecting the life they live, because of your decisions.

Another thing that stands out as the doors of physical church is closed, and congreagations have been forced to fellowhship online is, “To him be the glory in the church.” When I was growing up my aunt used to sing a hymn that went like this, “Lord prepare me, to be a sanctuary, pure and holy, tried and true. And with thanksgiving, I’ll be a living. Sanctuary oh for you.” Right now that is what we are being forced to do. More than ever we are realizing, that we the people, are the church. The church is inside each of us. What we do outside of those four walls, beyond the hour and half on a Sunday is more important to our walk with Christ than ever before. So if you ever feel like you are struggling spirtually, struggling with life, struggling to realize the power God has given us then go to Ephesians 3:20-21.

Trust me, I know You’ve Probably Heard This Before, but I am beliving that you’ve never heard it quite like this before.

What Does Impossible Mean To God?

Dear Lord, may you get the glory for this. There are people who are dealing with life right now and feel like their bad days will never end. They are needing a reassurance of faith. Allow these words to be the reminder of the Power of the God we serve. What Does Impossible Mean To God?

When we are at our lowest moments. You know the moments where the only thing that seems possible is staying in that rut. This is where I think the fellowship with God is so important. As you read your bible, as you listen to gospel music and sermons, as you stop looking at certain things, you begin to realize something. You can ONLY pull out those things that you have put in your spirit. My grandma always told me this; you cannot expect to pull out a verse that you never read, just like you cannot expect to pass a test you never studied for.

Why is it important to put in?

Well, in life when you put in on something, it normally means you are going to get something back. Your spirit is the same way and getting out of that rut takes the same dynamic. How would you know that nothing is impossible to God, if you never read his miracles in the Bible? Putting in is important because it equips your faith for moments that help you battle your lows. You will never feel alone if you read about the sufficiency of His Grace (2 Corinthians 12:9). You will never question, is having just a little faith enough for God to hear you, if you read that you only need a mustard seed sized faith. (Matthew 17:20). You will know without a doubt, that he will never leave you in your lowest moment, if you read that he will never leave you not forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). Lastly, you will know that God did not send His Son to condemn those who believe in Him, but to save them (John 3:17). There are many more blessings, miracles, and relatable stories that you are missing out on by not putting in on your fellowship with Christ.

The context of this moment we are focused on today, A man comes up to Christ, as he is teaching his disciples. He walks up wanting to know what good works must he do to receive eternal life. Christ let him know there is only one who is good, then told him to keep the commandments, if he wanted eternal life. Then He told him in verse 21, “if you want to be perfect, go sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in Heaven. Then come, follow me.” The man was sad because he had great wealth. (Matthew 19:16-22)

Let that sink in, he was content doing things he thought was good, but when he was told what would make him perfect he was sad.

Let’s Put The Bookmark Right There.

Right now, how many of us are trying to live right? How many of us are trying to do good? Trying to put works with our faith, but we have our vices that we just cannot let go of. We have those things that we love and idolize, and they get in the way of our love for God. These things are why it is impossible for man (humans), to be “good.” We all have vices that we cannot get rid of without God. If we tried 100 times, 99 times by ourselves, and 1 time with God. We would only truly be successful once, because we lack the strength that God’s grace gives us.

Why did he get sad when he was told that he had to give his possessions away and give to the poor? Maybe it was because we don’t mind giving the parts of us that don’t require much sacrifice. Yet, we want to make it to Heaven, where our God sacrificed His Son for us. I’ve noticed that about myself during reflection. I will give you my first fry or piece of gum, but that last one is a different discussion. I will give something as long as it is not leaving me without. I know I am not the only one. This is why we need to do things with him. Without him, we lack the love, the empathy, the courage, and grace to do the things that we KNOW we should do.

This is what makes our God so great, because he gave. He did not think about it, he did not question what he will gain or lose, he just gave. This is why we cannot do it on our own, but with him we can. I know that with him nothing is impossible, nothing is too hard, and nothing is too large. So, to answer the question, “What Does Impossible Mean To God?” it is simple. Impossible means nothing because he is the God of making the impossible, possible.
